Decision No MB/2020/11 of the Management Board of the Agency for Support for BEREC (BEREC Office) for the Approval of the Headquarters Agreement between the BEREC Office and the Host Member State

Article 47 of the Regulation (EU) 2018/1971 “Headquarters Agreement and operating conditions” envisages that all arrangements concerning the accommodation to be provided for the BEREC Office in the host Member State (MS) and the facilities to be made available to the BEREC Office staff and members of their families shall be laid down in a Headquarters Agreement between the BEREC Office and the host MS. The host MS shall provide the necessary conditions to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the BEREC Office, including multilingual, European-oriented schooling and appropriate transport connections. As a consequence, the BEREC Office Management Board (MB), with the Decision No MB/2019/06, authorised the Director of the BEREC Office to engage in a joint project with the Government of the Republic of Latvia in accordance with the mandate provided in the annex to the afore-mentioned decision. After approximately 9 months of preparatory work, on 9 January 2020, the Director of the BEREC Office, with the assistance of representatives of the MB Vice-Chairperson and the European Commission, launched the joint project together with a working group of the Host Member State, which was led by the Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia.
