BEREC has adopted a new BEREC Opinion on Phase II investigation (DE/2013/1430)

BEREC adopted a BEREC Opinion on Phase II investigation pursuant to Article 7a of Directive 2002/21/EC as amended by Directive 2009/140/EC on 17 May.

 On 8 April 2013 the European Commission informed the German National Regulatory Authority BNetzA and BEREC about its serious doubts considering that a draft measure concerning call termination on individual public telephone networks provided at a fixed location (market 3) in Germany would create a barrier to the internal market.

Following its role and rules BEREC adopted its opinion, stating that the expressed serious doubts by the European Commission are justified. More specific information about the serious doubts of the European Commission and BEREC’s assessment can be found here:
