Lucrezia Busa is the head of unit B3 (Competition, Markets and Roaming) within DG CNECT.

Lucrezia has more than 15 years of professional experience across different departments of the European Commission: she worked for 10 years as case handler and policy officer within the Mergers and State aid departments of DG Competition, as legal adviser at DG TRADE and as digital policy coordinator within the Secretariat-General. During the period 2019-2024, as member of the cabinet of the European Commissioner for Justice, she worked on matters related to data protection, AI, digital policy as well as company law.

Lucrezia also worked as a lawyer in private practice and as in-house counsel for the French electricity company Electricite’ de France (EDF).

She graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, obtained two masters degrees in EU and international law at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and at the College of Europe in Bruges. She was admitted to the Rome Bar in 2005.
