Yohann Bénard is Amazon’s Public Policy Director EU, Digital. Before joining Amazon in 2018, Yohann held senior business and corporate roles in the telecom industry (Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia), most notably as director general of Alcatel Submarine Networks, a global leader of submarine optical connectivity. Yohann started his career in blue chip French governmental bodies, serving as judge with the Council of State (French administrative supreme court), advisor to the Prime Minister and deputy chief of staff to Economy & Finance Minister Christine Lagarde. He wrote 150+ articles published in law journals. He is a board member of the French American Foundation and a member of the Advisory Committee on Digital Affairs of the Paris Peace Forum.
