Steffen Lange combines macroeconomic analyses of the challenges posed by digital capitalism, the decoupling of economic growth from environmental resource use, and the political economy of the far right. He presents his work to organizations such as UNCTAD, UNEP, the European Commission, and the World Bank, as well as in civil society contexts. He is the Country Contact for the European Society for Ecological Economics, serves on the scientific advisory boards of Impact AI and Attac, is a member of the Network for Pluralist Economics, and serves on the board of Common Future.
In his books, Steffen Lange addresses major questions of our time. Recently, he published two books on digital economics and sustainability: “Digital Reset: Redirecting Technologies for the Deep Sustainability Transformation” and “Smart Green World? Making Digitalization Work for Sustainability.”
Previously, he published “Macroeconomics Without Growth,” in which he analyzes the conditions under which economies can be organized in a stable, sustainable, and socially just way without economic growth.
