Due to the delay in the approval of the General Budget of the EU for 2015 by the European Parliament and the Council the BEREC Office needed to start using the 2015 Budget on the basis of the ‘provisional twelfth’ principle. For the BEREC Office, preliminary calculation showed that this 1/12th will not be enough for HR expenditures in January 2015 the number of staff will be higher than the average in 2014.

Article 18 (5) of the BEREC Office Financial Regulation empowers the MC to authorise expenditure in excess of one provisional twelfth but not exceeding the total of four provisional twelfths. In that respect the Administrative Manager tabled a request according to the referred Article of the Financial Regulation and a draft MC Decision for adoption by urgent electronic voting procedure.

The MC approved the decision on 16 December 2014.
