BEREC to provide an update on its new chairmanship and priorities for 2026

On 8 October 2025, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) will hold its next public debriefing. The event will take place in Brussels, Belgium, at the IRG Secretariat, Rue de la Science 14A (3rd floor), and will be in hybrid format, allowing attendance both in person and online via a livestream on the BEREC website.
What is coming?
The incoming BEREC Chair, Marko Mišmaš (AKOS, Slovenia), will present the draft BEREC Work Programme for 2026 and will be available to answer questions from stakeholders regarding the public consultation on the document. The co-chairs of the BEREC Fixed Networks Evolution working group will reveal the outcome of the recent public consultation and introduce the final guidelines on the coordination of civil works and access to in-building physical infrastructure, in line with the Gigabit Infrastructure Act.
In addition, the debriefing will cover the other key outcomes of BEREC’s 64th plenary meetings, including the results of the BEREC Chairmanship 2027 elections and an announcement of the new composition of the BEREC Miniboard for 2026.
BEREC Chair Robert Mourik (ComReg, Ireland) will provide further updates on BEREC’s ongoing work, including information regarding the recent study trip to the United Kingdom.
The full agenda for the event will be published on the BEREC website shortly after the plenary meetings held on 2-3 October 2025.
Registration
BEREC invites industry stakeholders and policymakers to attend the debriefing in order to gain insights into BEREC's work, and encourages them to participate in the discussions on the regulatory framework, which will shape the future of electronic communications in the EU.
Those interested in attending the debriefing in person are invited to register early, as space in the meeting room is limited. The event will be livestreamed on the BEREC website and those following online will have the possibility to ask questions via the Q&A chat box.
