Decision of the Board of Regulators on BEREC Expert Working Groups 2017-2018

Article 11 (1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Board of Regulators provides that the BoR “may decide to create Expert Working Groups to assist with the performance of the tasks and functions of BEREC and request the Office to provide support. The Chair of each Expert Working Group shall be designated by the Board of Regulators”. The decision re-establishes and re-configurates the Expert Working Groups for 2017. After a selection procedure as foreseen by the BoR Rules of Procedure the current EWG Co-chairs have been appointed until 31 December 2016 by BoR Decisions of December 2014, February, July and December 2015 respectively the EWG Co-chairs are (re-)appointed for the year 2017.

As the Roaming EWG has been re-configurated and its scope extended, it was considered appropriate to appoint exceptionally and temporarily three Co-chairs of the Roaming/Mobile EWG. As also after the second call for candidates only one candidate had applied for the position of the End User EWG Co-chair, this EWG will have only one Co-chair for the time being. Furthermore, in order to avoid having less than 2 Co-chairs, the principle that one NRA should not hold more than 2 Co-chair positions was suspended.
